Paul Drucker, a trial lawyer, is running for the State House in PA’s District 157. For the last several decades, Drucker has filed hundreds and hundreds of lawsuits including many against school districts, doctors and businesses. His focus wasn’t on helping taxpayers, lowering healthcare costs, creating jobs or improving the quality of life in his community.

As a result, he has cost taxpayers money and has helped create an environment where we are losing good doctors and are having a hard time creating jobs.

From time to time, we will present some of these facts to help you decide whether or not someone who has helped cause the problems we must face should be elected to help solve them.

EPISODE 3: “The Parking Space”

In yet another case where Paul Drucker put himself ahead of Pennsylvania’s economy and our ability to create jobs, Paul Drucker sued Wal-Mart.

Paul Drucker didn’t sue Wal-Mart on behalf of a wronged employee or a customer who bought a bad product. Paul Drucker sued Wal-Mart over a parking space and customers behaving badly.

Yes, as if torn from the pages of a Seinfeld episode, two customers fought over a parking space. Angry looks were flashed. The would-be customers even made obscene gestures. Each eventually parked and apparently went shopping.

But, their story doesn’t end there. The pair met again, inside Wal-Mart where one customer struck the other. Well, you are probably thinking that either this case ended there; or that the victim sued the slapper; or, that the victim pressed criminal charges against the slapper.

Well, you would be wrong. Paul Drucker, never at a loss to find a way into a courtroom or to chase after 'deep pockets' decides to sue Wal-Mart — not even the slapper.

Drucker’s 'theory' was that Wal-Mart should prevent customers from fighting with one another. Wal-Mart, in other words, should hire extra staff or maybe security guards, or boxing referees to keep customers apart in case they get angry.

The court, wisely, dismissed the case — not even letting it go to a jury.
This episode may make you laugh. It may make you angry. But, we hope it makes you think.

Over the past several decades, Paul Drucker has sued doctors, school districts and businesses. At times, like this, he sues business. As a result, the businesses lose money hiring other lawyers and lose staff time preparing for these types of annoyance lawsuits.

This causes prices to go up and gives businesses another reason not to locate in, or expand in, Pennsylvania. Maybe Wal-Mart can handle these costs. But, maybe, they’ll open one less store in PA. Or, maybe another chain, or even small business, decides not even to open up.

“Slip-and-fall-Paul” Drucker…for decades, he’s been part of the problem. Why would we ever send him to be our Representative???
